Wellington’s climate offers four distinct seasons. Located in a semi-arid zone, the Average annual precipitation is 13.6 inches and the growing season is 145 days. Relative humidity averages about 35 percent year-round. Summers are warm midday temperatures have pleasant, cool nights. Occasionally, a cold winter storm keeps people indoors, but snow often melts as fast as it falls. The area is smog-free. |

- The Wellington Area offers a variety of housing opportunities, both old and new. Like most desirable locations, housing prices are on the rise. Residential real estate values continue to rise. There are several new subdivisions to choose. Building is located on the North, South and East sides of Wellington.
- For travel there are two airports within 30 miles of Wellington that connect to larger cities.
- Wellington is operated by a mayor-council form of government. A town board of six elected trustees and a mayor oversee the ongoing activities of the incorporated municipality. Various boards and commissions composed of area residents operate within the structure of the town board policies.
