9Health Fair
Wellington Recreation will again host a 9Health Fair on April 14, 2012 at Wellington Community Church!! Thanks to the many volunteers and community businesses who made last years event a huge success. We will again need the help of many volunteers and local businesses to run this event. If you or someone you know is interested in helping out please contact us (click here to email us). Click here to download a volunteer form. The 9Health Fair offers many free or low cost medical screenings which require many volunteers to run. Click here to visit the official 9Health web site. Save time waiting in lines and pre-register for your screenings. Click here to pre-register. If you pre-register make sure you bring a copy of your receipt. Without a copy of your receipt we will have to charge you for your screenings.
Be first in line, online! Once you have created a user account you can register for almost any activity whenever it is convenient for you. Snowing outside, kids sick, worked all day and don't feel like dealing with another person, NO PROBLEM, just log on and register at home when it is convenient for you. So you want to pay with cash or a check, no problem. Just drop by the Recreation Office (Suite A in the Leeper Center) and we will be happy to process your registration. The Recreation Office will be staffed Monday and Friday from 4:00 to 6:00PM and Wednesday 2:00 to 6:00PM during registration periods. The office is open M-F but is not guaranteed to be staffed outside of registration hours. Jerseys purchased online must be picked up at the Recreation Office. All late walk in registrations will be assessed a $5 late fee, per individual, in addition to all registration fees.

Wellington Recreation's youth sports are powered by volunteers. We are always looking for dedicated individuals to help out. If you or someone you know would like to work with the youth programs please contact us ( volunteer@townofwellington.com) for more information. Wellington Recreation is proud to be affiliated with the National Alliance of Youth Sports to provide training for our volunteer coaches.
Wellington Recreation also offers the National Alliance of Youth Sports Start Smart programs. Start Smart is a program designed to teach young children the basic motor skills necessary to play organized sports while they work one-on-one and spend quality time with their parents. Start Smart sessions are held once a week for six weeks with the exercises becoming increasingly more difficult as the class progresses. Registration can be done online ( click here to register) or at the Recreation Office (Suite A in the Leeper Center). All late walk in registrations will be assessed a $5 late fee, per individual, in addition to all registration fees. Jerseys purchased online are to be picked up at the Recreation Office (receipt required). Jerseys may be returned if they are clean and have not been washed. Once players have been assigned to a roster they are eligible for a 75% refund, refunds of registration fees will not be given after the first scheduled game or meeting.
Most youth leagues run on a six week schedule for games with practices beginning approximately two weeks before games begin. Youth teams that are Wellington based but play games outside of Wellington may have longer seasons. All practice dates and times are determined by our volunteer coaches. A couple notes on rosters. Studies show that kids would rather play and lose than sit on the bench and win. With this in mind, Wellington Recreation strives to keep rosters small so kids will have more opportunity to play. Rosters are built using data collected during skill drills performed on Roster Assignment Days. Everyone who registers will be placed on a team, player evaluations are intended to help preserve parity and ensure a competitive league with no one dominant team. With this in mind, parents are encouraged to make every effort to ensure that all registrants participate in Roster Assignment Days. Please note that roster requests are not guaranteed and will only be considered for registrants who participate in the Roster Assingnment Day.
