Wellington Recreation: Let the fun begin!
Adult Sports
The purpose of the activities sponsored by Wellington Recreation is to provide the members of our community with the opportunity for friendly competition in a safe environment. Friendly competition and clean sportsmanship will be emphasized. Our main goal is for all participants to have fun while maintaining an active lifestyle.

Registration
Be first in line, online! Once you have created a user account you can register for almost any activity whenever it is convenient for you. Snowing outside, kids sick, worked all day and don't feel like dealing with another person, NO PROBLEM, just log on and register at home when it is convenient for you. So you want to pay with cash or a check, no problem. Just drop by the Recreation Office (Suite A in the Leeper Center) and we will be happy to process your registration. Registration opens at Noon and closes at 6:00PM on the advertised dates. Online registration is available two day early and two days late. The Recreation Office will be staffed Monday and Friday from 12:30 to 4:00PM and Wednesday 12:30 to 6:00PM during registration periods. The office is open M-F but is not guaranteed to be staffed outside of these hours.

Adult Coed Soccer
Wellington Recreation offers 5v5 Coed Soccer (four in the field plus a goalie). Ages 16 and up may participate. Registration is $175 with an unlimited roster and is limited to eight teams. Paid registration includes eight games. Small sided rules will be used. Registration may be conducted online (click here to register online) or at the Recreation Office (Suite A in the Leeper Center).
Registration for 2010 will be open April 21-May 5 for the summer season. Online registration opens two days early and closes two days late. Registration is limited to eight teams. Managers meeting May 24, 6:00PM in the Leeper Center. League play begins Tuesday, June 8.
Adult Coed Softball Leagues
Wellington Recreation offers Adult Coed softball with a choice of three leagues; Leisure, Recreational, and Competitive. The following criteria will be used for determination of which league a team participates in (Wellington Recreation reserves the right to assign teams to a league, before or during the season):
- Competitive: Teams consisting of average to above average athletes who generally play consistent offense and defense. Team has a good mixture of power and speed. These teams probably participate in tournaments and have scheduled practices. All players must be at least 18. Over the fence home runs allowed (one-up rule used). (2010: games begin May 26, tournament August 7)
- Recreational: Teams have some power and speed, but are not as well balanced and lack the consistency of competitive teams. Several players may only be average to below average on defense and/or offense. Ages 16 and up may participate. One over-the-fence home run allowed per team. (2010: games begin May 27, tournament August 12, 14)
- Leisure: Teams generally are made up of inexperienced players. Teams lack power and overall defensive skills. Players participate for exercise and enjoyment of the sport. Ages 14 and up may participate. No over-the-fence home runs allowed. (2010: games begin May 28, tournament August 13, 14)
- Leisure "Free Agent" Team: Don't have a team to play on? No problem, drop cash or check off at the Recreation Office and sign up for the Free Agents. A team will consist of six males and six females that will compete in the Friday night Leisure league.
- Start dates may be adjusted according to final registration (i.e. league play may begin May 12).
Adult Coed softball rosters will be unlimited. There is a special section on the official roster for minors. Minor and parent or legal guardian must both sign in the presence of a Field Supervisor or Recreation Coordinator. There will be NO EXCEPTIONS.
Paid registration ($550) includes ten regular season games and an end of the season tournament. Registration for 2010 will be open from March 31 through April 14. Space is limited so register early! Twelve games will be scheduled (ten regular and two tournament) with a guarantee of ten games. Registration may be conducted online (click here to register online) or at the Recreation Office (Suite A in the Leeper Center). All games played at Library Park, 3800 Wilson Ave (just west of Eyestone Elementary).
Adult Coed Volleyball
Wellington Recreation offers 6v6 Coed Volleyball. Ages 14 and up may participate. Registration is $300 with an unlimited roster and is limited to eight teams. Paid registration includes eight games. Registration may be conducted online (click here to register online) or at the Recreation Office (Suite A in the Leeper Center).
Registration for 2010 will be open February 3-February 17 for the early season with the winter season to be announced. Online registration opens two days early and closes two days late. Registration is limited to eight teams. Early season managers meeting March 2, 6:00PM in the Leeper Center. Early Season league play begins Tuesday, March 9.
Adult Coed DodgeballWellington Recreation offers 6v6 Coed Dodgeball. Ages 14 and up may participate. Registration is $175 with an unlimited roster and is limited to ten teams.
