The purpose of the activities sponsored by Wellington Recreation is to provide the youth of our community with the opportunity for learning and fun in a safe environment. Friendly competition and clean sportsmanship will be emphasized with winning being secondary. Our main goal is for ALL participants to have FUN while building athletic, team, and social skills. All offerings are open to both boys and girls.

 

 

Refund Policy: Full refund up to skills day/roster assignment. 75% refund after skills day/roster assignment. Not eligible for refunds after first game/session.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED
Wellington Recreation’s programs are in need of dedicated individuals willing to donate their time. We are currently in need of coaches, head and assistant, for each activity offered. Working with kids can be a rewarding experience. All coaches are required to attend a seasonal coaches meeting and become NYSCA certified. Contact us at volunteer@townofwellington.com with any questions.

 

Be first in line, online! Once you have created a user account you can register for almost any activity whenever it is convenient for you. Snowing outside, kids sick, worked all day and don't feel like dealing with another person, NO PROBLEM, just log on and register at home when it is convenient for you. So you want to pay with cash or a check, no problem. Just drop by the Recreation Office (Suite A in the Leeper Center) and we will be happy to process your registration. Registration opens at Noon and closes at 6:00PM on the advertised dates. Online registration is generally available two days early and two days late. The Recreation Office will be staffed Monday and Friday from 12:30 to 4:00PM and Wednesday 12:30 to 6:00PM during registration periods. The office is open M-F but is not guaranteed to be staffed outside of these hours.  Jerseys purchased online must be picked up at the Recreation Office.

 

 

Wellington Recreation offers basketball to ages three and up using the following age groupings; Start Smart (ages 3-5), Grades 1-3 and Grades 4-6. All events are held at the elementary or middle school gyms. Start Smart will consist of six one hour sessions. Grades 1-3 will be scheduled for six games and Grades 4-6 will be scheduled for eight games. All participants will need the following equipment: Blue/White reversible jersey (except Start Smart), gym shorts, gym shoes, water bottle. Jerseys may be purchased during online registration or at the Recreation Office. Registration fees are as follows: Start Smart $45, Grades 1-3 $40 and Grades 4-6 $50.

Soccer
Wellington Recreation offers soccer to ages three and up using the following age groupings; Start Smart (ages 3-5), Age 4-5, Age 6-7, Age 8-9, Age 10-12, and Age 13-15. All events are held at Library Park or View Pointe Park. Start Smart will consist of six one hour sessions to be held weekday evenings. Age 4-5 and Age 6-7 will be scheduled for six games. Age 8-9, Age 10-12, and Age 13-15 will be scheduled eight games. We highly recommend that Start Smart be taken if the registrant has not previously participated in an organized sport. All participants will need the following equipment: Blue/White reversible jersey (except Start Smart), gym shorts or sweat pants, gym shoes or athletic cleats (no metal), shin guards, water bottle. Jerseys may be purchased during online registration or at the Recreation Office. Registration fees are as follows: Start Smart $45, Age 4-5 and Age 6-7 $35; Age 8-9, Age 10-12, Age 13-15 $45.

Youth Ball
Wellington Recreation offers the following options for youth ball:

• Start Smart for ages 3-5: $45
• Modified T-Ball for ages 4-6: $35
• Coach/Player Pitch Baseball for ages 7-9: $45
• Player Pitch Baseball for Grades 4-11: $45

Start Smart sessions will be held at Library park. We highly recommend that Start Smart be taken if the registrant has not previously participated in an organized sport. T-Ball and Coach/Player Pitch games will be held at Library Park. Player Pitch teams will play games at Library Park and various locations in Fort Collins and Northern Colorado.

Player Pitch baseball is governed by the Fort Collins Baseball club. The Fort Collins Baseball Club is responsible for all scheduling and rules. For more information on Fort Collins Baseball Club visit their website.
