Effectively immediately and until further notice, outdoor watering within the Town of Wellington using treated water supplies from the Town’s Water Utility shall be limited as follows:
- Between May and October 2021, outdoor watering shall be restricted to the hours between 7 p.m. in the evening and 8 a.m. the following morning.
- Odd street numbers watering permitted on Tues. and Sat.
- Even street numbers watering permitted on Wed. and Sun.
- Runoff from irrigation shall be kept to an insignificant minimum.
- Irrigation overspray onto non-vegetated areas is prohibited.
- Washing of outside paved or concrete areas is prohibited.
If water production falls below levels required to provide water demand or the Town Administrator and Town Engineer determine that water supplies are in jeopardy of not been able to meet demands, the Town Administrator and Town Engineer may order that outside watering with domestic water supplies be reduced to one day a week and such order may provide for established watering days based on addresses.
Your cost for the water that you send down the drain to the Waste Water Treatment Plant is calculated annually, usually based on the average amount of water consumed as reflected on your January, February, and March utility bills. These 3 winter months were chosen so customers would not be charged for treated water used outdoors. From time to time we do a 4 month average which would include your December utility bill. If you water your lawn in the winter, the water used is included in your average. For new and transferring customers, the sewer charge is set at the town average of $27.13.
- $20.64 service line fee (up to 3,000 gallons)
- $6.50 per 1,000 gallons
The town currently has a monthly charge of $5 for residential customers and $9.25 for commercial customers.
There is an additional charge that the town collects for the Stormwater Authority. For residential, it is $6.33 and for commercial it varies based on impervious surface. For further information please contact Town Hall.
