The Town of Wellington Board of Trustees are pleased to announce Patti Garcia as the new Town Administrator beginning December 1, 2020. Garcia was selected from a highly competitive group of candidates who applied during the national search conducted by Peckham & McKenney Inc.
Mayor Troy Hamman commented, “We are very pleased with the value Patti Garcia brings to the table as a Town Administrator. Her regional experience with other communities and work history in our area is pertinent to the challenges we face. Wellington is underway with big infrastructure projects that will ensure success for the future of our Town that is well positioned for smart growth. Welcoming a candidate that understands all of this but also keeps in mind our small-town qualities that we citizens value so much is a huge add. The Board is confident Garcia will make a great partner as we strive to provide the best service to our Town.”
With a dynamic background in local government, Garcia has served in a variety of roles over an impressive 17-year career. Most recently serving as the Loveland City Clerk, she was responsible for overseeing staff whose duties include business licensing, public records requests, municipal elections, and more. Garcia brings expertise in the municipal process, organizational efficiency, and community engagement.
Garcia said, “I have lived in Colorado for most of my life; my husband and I moved to Oklahoma and then Pennsylvania and realized we missed where we grew up and made the transition back to the best state in the nation! I am truly honored by the opportunity to collaborate with the Board of Trustees and help lead the dedicated staff of Wellington. I look forward to getting into the community to hear from residents, even if that will need to look a little bit different to keep everyone safe.” Garcia has been married to her husband John for 36 years; together they have two daughters, one son, and two sweet dogs Cooper and Kaya.
