The Wellington Board of Trustees has established a Hardship Utility Grant program to assist Wellington residents with up to $300 a year toward their household water bill.
Wellington water utility users who are experiencing a hardship and meet the eligibility requirements should apply here:
The definition of hardship has not been limited to attempt to include as many people experiencing a difficult time as possible. There are several examples of hardships that may impact a family’s ability to pay including workplace or vehicle accidents, reduced income due to job loss or reduction in hours, medical bills, divorce, loss, etc.
The application requires documentation to substantiate the financial hardship statement. This documentation may be a pay stub comparison, medical bill, tax income documents, etc. If you are experiencing financial hardship and need help determining what documents will satisfy substantiation, please do not hesitate to contact Town Hall.
This program has been funded through sales tax in the amount of approximately $1 per resident or $12,000 total for the program.
