With just four days remaining until the 2024 Municipal Election, the Town of Wellington has received 1,137 of the 7,703 ballots mailed to Wellington voters.
Of the 1,137 returned ballots, 177 were returned to the Town as undeliverable and six entered the curing process because they lacked a signed affidavit on the return envelope.
Town Election Judges have processed 950 ballots with four more prepared for processing. Of those 950 ballots, 28 have been held for the signature verification curing process.
That means judges have tabbed 922 ballots for counting as of Thursday night.
The Town has also issued three replacement ballots so far for the 2024 Municipal Election and mailed curing notices to all 34 parties with ballots held for that process. Additionally, a list of ballots received by the Town including those identified as undeliverable is available, along with other election information, at www.wellingtoncolorado.gov/458/Elections.
Voters who have yet to return their ballot must do so to the Town Clerk by 7 p.m. on April 2. To ensure meeting that deadline, ballots can be returned in the following ways:
• the utilities drop box at the Municipal Services Building.
• the Larimer County elections drop box at the Leeper Center, 3800 Wilson Ave.

Three seats on the Wellington Board of Trustees are up for grabs in the election, with five candidates vying to fill those seats. As Wellington Town Trustees are elected at-large, all voters can vote for three candidates.
Unofficial results from the Municipal Election will be released as soon as feasible after election judges have completed counting. Results won’t become official until the Canvass of Election is completed, which will happen April 12 at the earliest.
