Crews from the Town of Wellington Public Works Department will perform wastewater line jetting this week in Old Town. The jetting will remove blockages and debris buildup, such as grease, sludge and other solid waste.
This process uses specialized equipment that creates a vacuum effect in the system. Residents in and around Old Town may notice sudden water loss in drains or toilets. If a smell develops, residents are advised to pour water into the drains to refill the p-trap passage.
In addition to removing blockages, jetting can also help to maintain the condition of the wastewater lines, protect the health of the Water Reclamation Facility, prevent corrosion, and extend the lifespan of the pipes. Jetting is performed by trained professionals with the equipment and expertise to ensure the process is safe and effective.
We will provide any additional details to that plan as soon as they become available. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and appreciate the understanding of residents as we complete this important work.
