Established in 1976, the Economic Development Council of Colorado (EDCC) promotes effective, responsible economic development practices across Colorado. Today they are the state’s premier economic development resource, representing the economic development interests of both the private and public sectors throughout the state. They connect our communities, our members and our partners to high-quality educational opportunities and trusted resources, and advocate for sound policies and programs that support a vibrant economy and enhance quality of life for all Coloradans.

EDCC members come from a variety of settings. They are rural and urban, public and private-sector, for profit and not-for-profit, and include individual communities, counties and regional organizations, local and state government, chambers of commerce, universities and private industry. We are economic development professionals, community volunteers, and business and political leaders.

Wellington Chamber of Commerce Logo

The Wellington area Chamber of Commerce is excited to accept the challenge of actively supporting the businesses and community of Wellington in their expansion into a vibrant and pleasant place to work, play, grow and visit. The Chamber is a non-profit organization developed specifically to assist its business members and the community to grow and prosper.

New businesses will be encouraged to come to Wellington to increase the diversity of the shopping experience thus the desire of people to shop Wellington. We aim to keep more shopper dollars in Wellington to help small businesses to thrive.

Wellington Main Street Logo

The Wellington Main Streets Program is a group of passionate citizens who champion community collaboration to enhance and promote downtown Wellington.

By partnering with organizations and leaders at the local, state, and national level, the program protects the historic character of downtown and promotes shared prosperity. The Wellington Main Street Program utilizes the National Main Street Four Point Approach to revitalize and strengthen our downtown’s physical attributes and economy.

Since 1989, the Larimer Small Business Development Center Network (SBDC) has been dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and businesses start, grow and prosper through street-smart business education and assistance throughout Larimer County. 

They support the growth and resiliency of small businesses by providing free confidential business consulting, practical workshops & events and connection to resources, including financing. Their consulting experts work in partnership to provide entrepreneurs with crucial information that can mean the difference between success and failure. Their vision is to be your premier, trusted choice for business consulting, training and resources. 

In the last decade, the Larimer SBDC has worked with over 4250 businesses in Larimer County! In just the past two years, the Center produced 202 workshops and events with over 2,252 attendees. Their team provided over 8500 hours of free one-on-one business consulting to over 1800 businesses and entrepreneurs. Those businesses created and retained over 1500 jobs, infused over $23 million of capital, reported sales increases of $33 million, and helped 99 local businesses get started!

Under the leadership of Governor Jared Polis, they strive to advance the state’s economy through financial and technical assistance in support of local and regional economic development activities throughout Colorado.

We assist in:

  • Building a strong public-private approach on a statewide basis for economic development activities
  • Monitoring economic conditions throughout the state and strengthening regional economies
  • Supporting entrepreneurs and small businesses
  • Increasing quality job creation by expanding and attracting businesses
  • Maintaining Colorado’s diverse economic base by retaining existing jobs through responsive programs and a supportive business climate
  • Positioning Colorado as a global leader in key industries, such as tourism, aerospace, bioscience and renewable energy
  • Assisting the state’s economy, while preserving quality of life

The Division of Local Government was created in 1966, as a recommendation of the Governor's Local Affairs Study Commission, to:

  • Provide technical assistance and information to local governments on available federal and state programs and act as a liaison with other state agencies concerned with local governments. 
  • Be a source of information to the Governor and General Assembly on local government needs and problems. 
  • Perform research on local government issues.

Downtown Colorado, Inc. (DCI) is a nonprofit, membership association committed to building better communities by providing assistance to Colorado downtowns, commercial districts and town centers. Established in 1982 as Colorado Community Revitalization Association and now dba Downtown Colorado, Inc., our organization provides four core services to organizations and individuals engaged in downtown and commercial district development:
