Economic Development Services

Access to Capital

While we’re not in the business of loaning money to entrepreneurs and local companies, we do have strong relationships with teams of professionals who are. Let us introduce you to the experts at the Larimer Small Business Development Center (SBDC). A free resource, they’ll help you start the exploration for options in financing plus understanding various tax incentives, tax credits and other financial programs.

Confidential Assistance

We understand the importance of confidentiality for all business ventures. Whether you’re in the planning stage, already in business or looking to expand or relocate, all discussions, planning sessions and research assistance is completely confidential and will only be discussed with other parties at your direction.

Business Networking

The Town of Wellington can help link your business to customers and business partners through a variety of ongoing initiatives. We participate in several regional economic development organizations including the Northern Colorado Regional Economic Development Initiative (“REDI”) and the Wellington Area Chamber of Commerce.

This analysis is made available for free to local businesses, to assist with their planning, marketing and business decisions.

Real Estate Services

Along with Realtor community partners, we can help answer questions about each business district, available properties and more.

Partnerships with Local Businesses

It is important for the Town and economic partners to maintain close, trusting, long-term relationships with local companies. We have programs where Town officials meet with local businesses. This allows us to improve communications, identify potential issues and opportunities and explore ways that the Town can assist local businesses. In addition, the Town actively participates with the Wellington Chamber of Commerce and other business groups that support a wide range of business events and community building activities.

Land Use and Zoning

Land-Use and Zoning Assistance the Town’s Comprehensive Plan and Land Use Codes to better inform and guide decision-making for the physical development of the community. This will provide policy guidance and recommendations for future actions involving land uses, including emphasis on preserving and supporting commercial corridors, strengthening the downtown business community, and encouraging employment opportunities. The Land Use Codes will support a variety of business opportunities and establish streamlined review processes and development proposals.

Planning and Permits

Customer service is the priority that guides and shapes all operations at the Town of Wellington Municipal Services Building (8225 3rd Street) and this is especially true when it comes to helping you obtain your licenses and permits. We will work collaboratively to help you navigate through the permit process as quickly as possible. We do this by keeping our regulations streamlined for all local permits and coordinate efforts with other permitting agencies for one efficient process.
