Fourth of July 2025
The Town of Wellington will host its traditional Fourth of July celebration this year with the theme “Honoring Our Heritage.”
The event is Wellington’s largest community gathering and will run throughout the day on Friday, July 4 — beginning with a pancake breakfast at 7 a.m. and ending with a fireworks show at about 9:30 p.m. The full schedule is as follows:
- 7 a.m. — Pancake breakfast hosted by The Wellington Filling Station (3906 Cleveland Ave.)

- 10 a.m. — Parade on Cleveland Avenue. This year's theme is “Honoring our Heritage.” (Register at https://app.amilia.com/store/en/wellingtoncolorado/api/Activity/Detail?activityId=xAomn52).
- During the parade, artist Terry McNerney will host a meet-and-greet next to the mural he is painting on the Wellington Grill building on the northeast corner of Cleveland Avenue and 2nd Street.
- 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. — Festival at Wellington Community Park. Festival offerings include:
- Inflatables
- Games
- Food & drink vendors
- Wellington Community Park amenities
- The Boss Battle Bus: a retro 80s arcade on wheels
- Rescue vehicle exhibit
- 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. — A special Main Street Market in Centennial Park (register athttps://www.jotform.com/form/250355527505152). The Market will include:
- Vendors (including food and drink)
- Live music featuring:
- The Patti Fiasco from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- Rusty 44 Band from 1:30-3 p.m.
- Family-friendly activities

- Hosted by Rockabilly Vixens.
- Cars located on Harrison and 4th Street around Centennial Park.
- Organizers will announce winners and host a pin-up and greaser contest between bands on the stage in Centennial Park.
- 7:30 p.m. – The Wellington Community Band will play a free concert in the Eyestone South parking lot
- The band will play as residents gather to watch the fireworks.
- 9:30 p.m. — Fireworks Show on the east side of Sixth Street, across from the Eyestone Elementary School campuses.
- The Eyestone Elementary South field will be available for spectators to view the show, but not the North Field. Parking is available in both Eyestone lots.
- Synchronized music is available for the show by tuning in to 97.1 FM at 9:39 p.m.
- Boy Scout Troop 94 is hosting a fundraiser from 5-9 p.m. in the viewing area. Scouts will be selling food as well as a pay-to-see attraction to benefit the troop.
- All Day — Residents are encouraged to take the self-guided Downtown Wellington Historic Tour, which can be found at https://wellingtoncolorado.gov/DocumentCenter/View/5202/Downtown-Wellington-Historic-Tour---2024.
Road closure information
Wellington’s 4th of July celebration requires the following road closures.
- 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.:
- Colorado Highway 1/Cleveland Avenue from the intersection with State Highway 9 to Fifth Street.
- First Street from Cleveland Avenue to Kennedy Avenue.
- Fifth Street from Cleveland Avenue to Roosevelt Avenue.
- 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.:
- Harrison Avenue from Third Street to Fifth Street.
- Fourth Street from Cleveland Avenue to Harrison Avenue.
- 2-11 p.m.:
- Sixth Street from Grant Avenue to Washington Avenue (County Road 64).
On-street parking will be available throughout the day in other areas, but residents are encouraged to walk, bike, or carpool to the day’s events, as space is limited.
Shuttle
Shuttle service will be available through a generous sponsorship from Wellington Colorado Main Street Program. The shuttle service will run from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. with drop off and pickup locations outside the Municipal Services Building (Third Street) and at the north parking lot (by the tennis courts) of Wellington Community Park.

Volunteer
The Fourth of July in Wellington is the year's largest event, hosting over 10,000 people downtown and at Wellington Community Park! The Town of Wellington is looking for dedicated volunteers to help put on this amazing community event.
if you are interested, please email events@wellingtoncolorado.gov. There are several ways to volunteer throughout the day, including helping with set-up, kids games, parade line-up and more.
